Baby Elisabeth is now 5 months!!!

Haha!  There she is, literally caught red-handed by her mummy doing what she loves best to do - Put EVERYTHING in her mouth, even her own toes.  You best watch yourself if you are near her mouth because she will try to eat you and it's the cutest thing.  This is her biggest 5 month development.  Other 5 month developments:

-Elisabeth is now observing us eat and I think interested in trying it herself
-She smiles a lot more now, especially at strangers, who love to get it out of her
-She laughs a little bit more too
-Her hair is the softest peach fuzz you ever did feel
-Her eyes are still a lovely steel blue with maybe an itty bit of green in the very center
-She has the chunkiest thighs, love em!
-She loves new things and experiences
-She only likes to drink similac soy, no thank you to other formula
-Did I mention she loves to chew on anything that gets into her hands.  Today I bought a new book for her and tried to read it to her but she only wanted to chew on it.  So funny.
-She rolls over onto her tummy but then gets stuck there and isn't sure how to get back to her back and yells out for help, especially when she wakes up from naps
-Still isn't a very good napper, but an awesome night sleeper still.  I am determined to give her a structured daily sleep schedule.

Here she is being caught by her poppa about to pop a toe in her mouth.

We went for an outing.  Isn't she a doll with her sunglasses?
Ahhhh, Midway the beautiful!  We went biking there on Saturday followed up by a double dinner date with Jared and Sharelle at our fave Mexican restaurant - Tarahumera.  It was a fabulous date night.  Midway was as enchanting as ever and we were oh so happy!  What a memorable evening.
Paul on Memorial Hill in Midway.
The bewitching town of Midway.  Reminds me of Brigadoon.
Here is Paul looking dashing in his bike gear on Main Street in Midway.
Here I am dressed in Mexican garb for a folkoric dance I did with some other DMC ladies for our talent show at our company-wide party.  Ay ay ay!!!!
Here is a sweet pic of my mom with Elisabeth at the airport.  She came for a short visit.

Elisabeth's squeals

Wow!  Three blog posts in one day!  I'm actually doing catch up tonight.  Here is a video of our sweet little girl making her adorable little squeals.  I love hearing her "talk."  My coworker calls it the Adamic language.

Day in Midway and other updates

Today, we went to Midway and drove around to look at possible homes and we loved it all over again.  Every time we go to that lovely town I fall in love with it.  The best part of the day, however, was that it was me, Paul and Elisabeth in the car together and she didn't cry once and it just felt like a fun family date.  After Midway we went to visit Jared who is in the hospital recovering from appendicitis which abcessed while he was in the operation.  Ouch!  He's doing much better today.  It's been a really good week and a wonderful day as a family.  Ever since Elisabeth came into our lives, I feel so much more like a family.  I love it!  It's made me a lot more stressed and tense about some things and a lot more laid back about other things.  Funny how that happens.

Lately, Elisabeth has been loving getting into her exersaucer.  Her latest toy.

And she LOVES sitting up.
Yesterday, she was trying to balance herself on her hands by only using one hand to prop herself up.  So cute.  Her daddy is so proud of her.  Did I mention she is a daddy's darling?  I can see why.  I married Prince Charming.  For reals!
Also, we have been taking her to the pool lately where we dip her feet in the water.  Not sure if she likes it but she doesn't hate it either.

She even smiled at her daddy while she was there.  What a pretty smiler she is!!  We can't get over the shape of her almond eyes when they crinkle when she smiles.  Beautiful!

And one more of her sleeping like the little angel she is...

Quilting bee

On Monday, we were invited to a quilting bee at Mom McAllister's home.  Elisabeth had a great time and I learned more how to quilt.  This is my second real time ever quilting.  I have a faint memory of tying quilts at some youth activity long ago but it was more about flirting with the boys than quilting so it's nice to actually learn.  The nicest part was that I was helping Bethany tie her quilt, a pretty pink and polka dot one, and then she told me that it was actually a quilt for our little Elisabeth!!  Our sweet baby girl is in luck!!  She now has two quilts made with love by the McAllister ladies.  Here she is below having fun with her cuzzies.

Good month!

August is a good month for all three of us I think.  Paul is studying like crazy for his August 23 CISCO exam.  I have a really good feeling about this one.  I think he may pass and he is really putting his shoulder to the wheel.  What a great guy!  Working so hard for the family.  I love you Paco.  Then, I have a new supervisor - Greg Peterson.  He is VP of Marketing for all of DMC and came from Kelloggs where he was their VP of marketing.  He is very sharp and intelligent and I am really excited to be learning new skills from him.

And last but not least, our sweet baby Elisabeth is doing great!  She loves to try and sit up and can almost tripod on her hands.  She likes the view from that position.  She also laughs when she does cause and effect things like pushing a bottle down and then I push it back up and round and round we go.  She is still sleeping 12 hours a night with a dreamfeed which I am going to try and cut out in a few weeks.  Eeks!  I always get nervous when I try new things with her but for the most part it works out.  She is also extremely grabby.  She grabs everything include my face which I love.  Well, not much else new but it's all in all a great week.  I leave you with two pictures.
