Bear Lake 2014

So yeah Bear Lake for Labor Day!  I can't believe I actually went.  I really didn't want to go.  It seemed like waaaay too much with 3 but Dave and Tiffany said we could have their big bedroom with the closet for our wee babe and so somehow Paul convinced me to go.  We propped our lovely green kayak on the top of our van and off we went!  Good times.  On Saturday, I slept in for the first time in forever.  I fed Grace and then put her back to bed and went to sleep for a few hours.  It was sheer bliss after so many weeks of no sleep.

Whew can you believe I have been working on writing this blog for a few weeks now!  I tell ya, those mom bloggers out there call themselves stay at home moms but they are busy blogging maybe at midnight??  Life with 3 kiddos is exhausting ya'll.  I love it but just don't have as much downtime by a long shot!  Egads.

Anyway, I can't remember Bear Lake so much anymore except for the fact that I am very glad we went.  Very very glad.  We stayed through Wednesday.  It took us 2 hours to clean up and pack and it was a full van but it was a very nice, very cheap vaycay.  The highlight were those skulls I got Paul for his birthday.  Everyone got to paint some and it made him so so happy.  Also, there is a cute pic of Paul in here sleeping halfway in a closet cause I had locked the door cause I didn't want Lizzie to come in and wake me or the baby up.  Anyway, good times and I've gotta go vacuum now.  Bye!

Moses is 17 months

  • Says uh-oh with the cutest, roundest "o"
  • Understands everything
  • Says banana, hi, mama, ding, ball, me, hi and most especially dada all the time
  • He absolutely adores his dada.  It's so joy-inducing to hear him say "dada"
  • Will repeat anything we ask him to say but doesn't always say it right
  • Loves to play peek-a-boo
  • Is a wiggly worm.  Rarely stays still for diaper changes or to go into his car seat
  • Doesn't like to be left with people he doesn't know
  • Is still a snuggler
  • only has 4 teeth, two on top, two on bottom and no signs of others
  • Has a big belly
  • Adores Lizzie and follows and does anything she wants
  • Likes Grace although he is always pressing on her tummy in adoration
  • Takes a great solid nap 12:30 - 3:30
Moses has really grown this month.  So proud of our wonderful baby boy.  Moses I adore you.

Grace is 3 months old

Oh my how time flies.  She is such a cutie!  She smiles all the time and here's what else is new:

  • She's started to use the bumbo quite a bit and holds her head up well
  • Pushes up high during tummy time
  • Has grey eyes
  • She is sooo smiley, did I mention it?
  • She coos
  • She sleeps really well and mostly through the night.  There have been a couple of snafu's at night because she is not a very good dreamer feeder, lil stinker.  She only takes 3-4 ounces most nights.  But she's a stellar napper!  Never really had the 45 minute nap problem because...I let her work through it and didn't jump in to soothe her.  She did it herself.  So grateful.  So she sleeps from 8-10:45, then 12:30 to 2:30 and then 4:15-5.  It's wonderful!  Anyway.  That's about it for my lil cutie.
Grace Luella - I love you so much!

On Paul

So yeah Paul got laid off yesterday.  Quite a shock!  I am doing okay actually.  I have a lot of faith that with his educational background and skill set, he'll be fine.  Paul thinks he will too.  It was a surreal day yesterday though.  I'll tell ya that.  He got laid off by the VP and HR person.  A few hours later, he got contacted by a headhunter (just randomly), soon after that he got an email that one of our previous renters is taking him to small claims court for not giving security deposit money back (those former renters broke a couple of our doors and windows), then after that we got a huge reimbursement check from our health insurance.  What a beautiful, blessed day.  I have faith we will be fine.  This will be a sure way for Paul to find something he really loves.  The layoff could not have come at a better time.  We just sold our triplex so we don't have that to worry about anymore.  Praise be to the Lord.  I am truly happy and grateful and see the Lord's hand in all of this.  Paul is at the temple now seeking guidance and inspiration.  So happy he can do that and wants to do that.  Man do I love that husband of mine.

Grace is sleeping through the night!

I think I can safely say it without jinxing myself but she is sleeping through the night!!  She began it at 10 1/2 weeks and there have been two nights (my fault I didn't give her enough dream feed milk) where she regressed but now she is 12 weeks old and I think it's okay to say it's working.  Wahoo!!  This morning she squeaked at the blissful hour of 6:55 and it was lovely, lovely, lovely.  You never know how precious your sleep is until it's gone, do ya?  Anyway, there's my delight-some news.

Moses is 16 months old!

Oh man do I ever love this boy!  He is allll boy!  Just a big yummy pork chop.  I want to gobble him up.  He's not doing much talking but we don't care.  We're just crazy for the boy.  He's still pretty sad when I nurse Grace but he loves when we hold him and snuggle him.  He is getting better at walking.  Thank goodness. Here he is below with his poppa who adores him.  It's soooo fun to watch them wrestle together. Moses I'm so grateful for you in our lives.  I love you Mo.

My lil garden

So Paul helped me start up a square foot garden in June.  He laid it out for me (thank you love!) and then I planted the plants that I had seeded a few months earlier inside.  Lizzie and I planted them a few days after Grace was born and check it out now!  Not too bad huh?  Squash will be ready to pick in a few days.
Plus we got out first tomato.  It was delicious!  So much better than storebought and for the first time I understood why tomatoes are called fruits.  Yum-o!
Thank you Lord for the bounty in my garden.  Hopefully I'll do another post about this in a few weeks with even more to show.  I can't tell you how grateful I am every day for living in this incredible town and in this lush valley.  It makes me happy every day.  I love our home and land and ward and neighbors and everything around us. Thank you Lord!
